Council meetings are meetings of full council, where council business is discussed and decisions are taken. The council meeting in May is deemed the annual meeting where, in addition to the usual business of full council, the election of chairman and vice-chairman takes place together with the appointment of committee and working group members and representatives to other bodies, and the calendar of meetings for the following year is agreed.
We meet monthly on a Wednesday (in the parish office, starting 7.45pm).
The Government has introduced regulations to provide as much flexibility to local councils in organising meetings going forward. The relevant legislation is The Local Authorities and Police and Crime Panels (Coronavirus) (flexibility of Local Authority Police and Crime Panel Meetings) (England and Wales) Regulations 2020 no.392. These regulations temporarily replace the meeting requirements set out in the Local Government Act 1972.
Council meetings will therefore take place virtually on the Zoom platform. Details of how to connect to meetings can be found on the appropriate meeting agenda.
Meetings of the council and its committees are open to the public, unless confidential business is to be discussed. Information about public participation and public access to our meetings can be found here :
