Replacement for Cedar of Lebanon, Shakespeare Way

Bracknell Forest Council has advised that a replacement for the Cedar of Lebanon which was felled last year due to its dangerous condition will be planted soon. An Atlas Cedar (Cedrus Atlantica) has been selected because it is very similar to the Cedar of Lebanon, but is considered more suitable for the site; it is a fast-growing species when young and so will start contributing to the visual amenities of the area sooner, also the species is better able to withstand urban pollution. We will confirm when the replacement has been planted.
